Every girl should have one Little Black Dress in her closet. If you don’t have one, I have two coming your way. 🙂
The dress I’m wearing is currently on sale for 25% off and comes in 11 other colors, yes you read that right. 11. Pretty much every color you can think of is available right now. This would be perfect for homecoming, wedding, birthday, baby shower, just about any semi-formal event next year. I absolutely loved it in the color black on me. My husband often tells me that black isn’t even a color lol. But in any case I still love it.

Hope you all had an awesome New Year’s Eve. Funny I am saying this because I’m actually writing this on New Year’s Eve. 🙂 Looking back at 2016 I had a wonderful year and so did the family! Some highlights below
We sold our first home and bought our second – the biggest challenge ever? We decided we needed to move to a better school district in January of this year when Nadia was 3 months old. Spoke to a realtor in February, made a ton of improvements that month to our first home and put it on the market in March and sold it in April. We also made an offer on our second home the very next day. LOL. This was a daunting time for us, but things happened so fast and I’m glad it did because we absolutely love our new home.
I completed 2 years at Netflix!! Woo-hoo!
Weight loss after Baby #2 – I worked really hard to lose my baby weight with Nadia and finally after 9 months of lifestyle changes to my diet I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight 🙂 Lots of salads, protein and no carbs for 4-5 months. I’ve since started eating carbs again but limit it to weekends only. Follow me on my journey to getting fit and toned this year on my Fitness tab. I will be posting bi-weekly progress updates and a workout/diet plan soon.
Ana’s Sweet Style was born– After months and months of thinking about whether or not to blog, I finally took the plunge and started it. Best decision I ever made because this blog has given me the chance to write about all the things I’m passionate about, connect with fellow bloggers like yourself, share my experiences and become part of a completely different community than what I’m most used to (engineering). I also grew from 0 followers on instagram to 1400 in just 3 months. So thankful for you all and happy to have met so many amazing bloggers! Blogging is hard work and I have so much appreciation for it now than when I first started it.
Travels this year with the family:
Legoland, San Diego – For Aiden’s birthday we flew to San Diego and took him to Legoland. He loved it but expected the whole place to be one big giant lego store. Heh. We also spent some time at San Diego Zoo and stayed at a beautiful vacation rental in La Jolla.
Utah – We went on a small vacation to Arches National Park with Aiden and did a 3 mile hike with him. We flew to Utah as I was attending the React Rally conference in Salt Lake City.
Disneyland – A week before Nadia turned 1, we flew both Aiden and Nadia to Disneyland and celebrated her 1st birthday in advance there. We also spent an evening at Mickey’s Halloween Event and witnessed the Fireworks on display. Once we got back home we celebrated her first birthday on Halloween, yes she was born on Oct 31st. How cool is that?
Arizona Trip during the Holidays – Our last vacation this year was a trip to Phoenix, Sedona, Grand Canyon and Page, AZ. We experienced a pretty severe snow storm on our way back from Grand Canyon to Sedona and saw a few cars flipped upside down. Grand Canyon was absolutely beautiful and we got to see gorgeous views of the canyon on our 2 mile hike in the South Rim. The next two days were not so great and filled with fog. Nadia also fell sick and was throwing up the entire time. Aiden and I ended up with a stomach bug too when we reached Page and couldn’t eat anything for a day. Overall the trip wasn’t the very best we’ve had this year. I have some travel tips for you guys from the lessons we learnt for those of you who plan to travel with young children. Keep an eye on my travel tab in the coming weeks for a blog post.
I’m so looking forward to 2017 for my family, myself and all you guys! As always there will be ups and downs and no year is going to be perfect, we always need to make the best of each year so we have something to look back on at the end of the year 🙂
In my next post, I will be talking about my short term and long term goals for 2017. Stay tuned and thanks for visiting my blog. xoxo
